More than half a million pounds in cash has been seized from 2 Nigerian men as they tried to enter the UK through Heathrow Airport. UKBA officers discovered the money, which was in €500 notes and US$100 bills, when the pair was stopped as they arrived on a flight from Paris on Wednesday 20 October.

Amnesty International has called on the Nigerian government to set up an independent commission of inquiry to investigate the use of firearms by security forces that left at least one person dead and 12 seriously injured at Bundu waterfront last year.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab , The Nigerian accused of trying to blow up a transatlantic airliner with explosives sewn into his underpants was not radicalised while studying at a British university, a report concluded yesterday. The former student at a London university was charged with attempting to blow up a plane over the US on Christmas Day.
The inquiry found no evidence that Abdulmutallab adopted extremist views while studying engineering at University College London. It also said there was no evidence that conditions at the university were "conducive to the radicalisation of students".
