Local govt election disrupted in Offa local govt, kwara state

Recall that The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Offa Local Government Council Area of Kwara State chapter had last week accused the state Governor Bukola Saraki and the state’s Independent Electoral Commission of plans to rig the October 30, 2010 local government council elections.

Information reaching Elombah.com indicates Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has been unanimously elected by the members of the Governors forum to steer its leadership till 2011.
It was gathered that a closed door meeting. Of the forum which lasted for several hours in Asokoro, Abuja saw Daniel emerging as their new leader

In an early morning judgement Sunday, 17 October 2010, a Dubai Court of Appeal has granted the request from Britain , supported by Nigeria, that the former Goverenor of Delta state, Mr. James Onanefe Ibori be extradited to Britain for trial.
Elombah.com gathered that in a two to one split decision, the court held that Britain has shown enough reason to tie Ibori to the commission of a crime to warrant his extradition to London.

Governor Kayode Fayemi of the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was Saturday, sworn in as Ekiti state governor at an elaborate ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. He was sworn in after the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division yesterday, sacked Segun Oni as governor in a landmark verdict.
