Another Desperate Appeal to Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State and the Nigerian Inspector General of Police to protect the Nkerehi People from Dr. Godwin Maduka’s Sponsored Violence and Mayhem. Dr. Godwin Maduka’s Militia, which doubles as “Umuchukwu Vigilante”, and his youth thugs are again attacking the Nkerehi people in
Orumba-South Local Government Area, Anambra State.
They attacked the Nkerehi people during the funeral and burial ceremony of Mrs. Celina Mgbafor Uwa, on July 27 and 28, 2012. They are threatening to kill and run the Nkerehi people out of town and into exile again.
They burnt two transportation buses; one of the vehicles belongs to Mrs. Celina Mgbafor Uwa’s son, Mr. Bernard Okorie Uwa, and the other belongs to his cousin, Mr. Okechukwu Ilo. They broke every glass window in Bernard Okorie Uwa’s house.
Dr. Godwin Maduka militia and youth thugs also burnt the DJ’s musical equipment. They beat and brutalized the DJ, Mr. IG Nwafor and many mourners. In the evening before the funeral, two of their conniving police officers covered their faces and arrested one of Mrs. Celina Mgbafor Uwa’s sons, took him to Okuzu and locked him up overnight. Enclosed below is Mr. Bernard Okorie Uwa’s brief testimony on the things that Dr. Godwin Maduka’s Militia and youth thugs did during his mother’s funeral.
Dr. Godwin Maduka militia and youth thugs contended that Bernard Okorie Uwa printed the town’s name “Nkerehi” in the posters of his mother’s death and funeral, which is allowed by the recent court order served to the DPO in Nkerehi.
Two of the thugs that participated in precipitating the mayhem were picked up by the police from Nnewi Area Command but they were released and not charged. Dr. Godwin Maduka’s corruption network in Nigeria is massive.
Dr. Godwin Maduka has sponsored all types of the violence against Nkerehi people including murder, beating, torture, kidnapping, looting, exiling, ostracizing, arson, etc. Dr. Godwin Maduka personally participated in beating many people in Nkerehi. However, neither him, his militia, nor his youth thugs are yet to be held responsible for the crimes they committed against the Nkerehi people, which amounted to crimes against humanity.
Dr. Godwin Maduka, his militia, and youth thugs are seriously plotting to force the Nkerehi people out of their town again. It should be recalled that the Nkerehi people were forced out of their homes and into exile for two years just because they refused that the ancestral name of their town should be change.
Dr. Godwin Maduka, a pain management doctor in Las Vegas, Nevada, initiated and sponsored the ongoing attempt to change the town’s name from Nkerehi to the so-called “Umuchukwu”, in a desperate attempt to legitimize his uncle, Michael Ukaegbu’s Igwe title, which has been illegitimate for 35 years because he does not have the sacred Symbol (Ofor) for the throne, and the family that rightfully holds the sacred symbol adamantly refused to surrender it.
Dr. Godwin Maduka, therefore, is trying to create a new kingdom for his uncle by destroying all the traditional and historical institutions in Nkerehi as well as attempting seriously to change the town’s name. Dr. Godwin Maduka tricked and lured the Catholic Church and Governor Peter Obi into his side by sponsoring the location of a Catholic monastery in Nkerehi and tagged those who are against changing the town’s name as “idol worshippers”.
The Anambra state government has been completely adamant on the plight of the Nkerehi people. The two years that the Nkerehi people stayed in forced exile was completely ignored by the Anambra State Government under Governor Peter Obi. The governor did not care whether the Nkerehi people were housed or fed. Dr. Maduka’s militia and youth thugs were allowed to loot and destroy the houses of the Nkerehi people, harvest their crops, and use their dangerous weapons (supplied by Dr. Godwin Maduka) to keep the Nkerehi people away from their homes for two year.
It took an order from the former Nigerian Inspector General of police to return the Nkerehi people back to their homes just barely a year ago. Dr. Godwin Maduka’s militia and youth thugs were and are still allowed to carry all sorts of weapons including pump action guns, which they use in harassing, intimidating, maiming, and killing the Nkerehi people.
Dr. Godwin Maduka was allowed personally to build and equip a police station and police quarters in the town. He was also allowed to build a court. He, his militia, and youth thugs are above the law. In fact, they are the law because the police enforce what they dictate for the police. They can do anything in the town and avoid being arrested but if ever arrested, they are never charged to court.
Therefore, we are again calling on Governor Peter Obi and the present Nigerian Inspector General of Police to disarm and disband Dr. Godwin Maduka’s militia and youth thugs and protect the Nkerehi people. Dr. Godwin Maduka’s militia and youth thugs are lawbreakers and they should never be allowed to force the Nkerehi people out of their homes ever again. The Nkerehi people are human beings and their human and civil rights have been violated and abused for years.
Therefore, we are going to hold the Anambra State Government under Governor Peter Obi and the Nigerian Police absolutely responsible for any violation, abuse, harassment, harm, or crimes committed against the Nkerehi people. It is the duty and responsibility of Governor Peter Obi and the Nigerian Police to protect the life and property of the Nkerehi People.

Here is the testimony of Mr. Bernard Okorie Uwa on what happened to him during the funeral ceremony of his mother:
27th of July 2012 was a day of disaster for me. It was the day i will never forgot in my life time. Please i am sending this from Hospital bed. As i am writing this I am shedding tears. The questions i want ask is this: Is anyone above the law? To change town's name is it with force?
To cut the story short: 27th July was the day of the burial ceremony of my late mother Mrs Celina Uwah. It was the day Kenneth maduka, Nicholas mbamara (Ejiemennu), Emeka irofo, Okechukwu nwele, Paul Nwafor (Pauloo), Chukwudi ezeji, Sunday onwusoronye, Tobenna ezeji, Chibuzor okoli and many many others burnt my bus and Okechukw Iro's bus.
Okey,s bus burnt in front of Umuchukwu (Umuekwensu) police station. And police was there watching. They even comanded the ambulance driver to go back wit the corpse. Because i put the poster of my late mother bearing my town name Nkerehi that was the offence i commited. Then they proceeded to the house when they reach there Kenneth maduka poured fuel on my bus and removed gun from his pocket and shoot inside bus and the Bus caught fire.
They destroyed all the allumaco and glasses, the musical equipment belonging to I G Nwafor from Owerre ezukala worth millions of naira, Spoiled all the food, drinks of many types broke my 21inch T.v. Stole our cash and brothers dollars. They wounded massco. Okey iroh massco son and many others and up to this moment police is yet to any serious thing. When discharged from hospital i will send remaining Pictures. They bus that feeds my family is no more because of Godwin Maduka,s money.
Is this man above the law?
