Latest information indicates that the Embassy of Nigeria in the United States, headed by Ambassador Ade Adefuye, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have joined forces to intimidate Mrs Carol Olubufunmi, CEO of Africa Tourism Development, a US based organization. Mrs Olubufunmi's offence is that she
is demanding that the embassy pay for the legitimate expenses incurred by the office of the vice-president of Nigeria that sponsored the wife of the vice-president, Hajiya Sambo, the Embassy and other participants, to the Pan African Women Leaders Summit in Washington D.C in 2010, which she organised.

Mrs Olubufunmi told elombah.com that the Ambassador not only owes her the sum of $528.0000 till date, but when she attempted to seek legal redress in the United States, Ambassador Adefuye wrote the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to arrest Mrs Carol Olubufunmi on a charge of “Attempt to Obtain by False Pretences”.
Below are the letters from EFCC to the Tourism professional, and the letter of intimidation from Nigerian embassy in Washington DC.

RE: CEASE AND DESIST PAYMENT REQUESTS
Ms. Olubufunmi:
This letter serves as the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Washington DC’s (“Embassy”) formal rejection of all requests for payments by you or your attorney. We demand that you withdraw all your requests for payments from the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and return all monies that you received from The Embassy and the Nigerian Delegates regarding the Pan Africa Women Leader’s Summit (“Summit”) that held on October 17, 2010.
Much to the dismay of the Embassy, you conducted your summit in an unsatisfactory and completely unacceptable manner for guests of such magnitude. Your attempt to charge the Nigerian Delegates the outrageous price of Three Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty dollars ($3,550.00) per person was neither justified nor reasonable, given that the event had less than 5 guests (including you and your daughter) show up. As a result, you forced the Embassy to make alternate arrangements to accommodate our esteemed Nigerian Delegates.
What we have come to discover after investigating your company is even more troubling and damaging to you. The Pan Africa Women Leaders’ Network, the organization that you purport to be the “CEO” of, never registered to do business in the District of Columbia, which is a violation of D.C. code title 47, chapter 28. (See exhibit A). In your February 22 letter to His Excellency Alhaji Namadi Sambo, you request payment into an account of a company that you created in May of 2008, named CGC Consultants. However, in May of 2010, you forfeited your company to the State of Texas because you deliberately failed to pay your business taxes, as required by Texas law (See exhibit B). Since Pan African Women Leaders Network is not a recognized legal business entity, in the event of a lawsuit you are personally liable for all damages. By engaging in business in the District of Columbia without the mandatory basic business license, you have committed fraud not only on the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but also on the United States, whose Embassy issued visas to the Nigerian Delegates on the mistaken belief that you were a legitimately licensed organization. Consequently, you stand to face numerous penalties and sanctions in addition to remaining personally liable for any damages incurred by the Nigerian Embassy and/or the Delegates.
If you choose to continue your course of action by harassing the Office of the First Lady with your payment demands, The Embassy will take swift action and report your malfeasance to the proper agencies, which will ensure that you are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
PLEASE GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY.
