Team Nigeria athletes to the just concluded London Paralympic games are insisting on adequate reward from the government especially as they were able to achieve what their physically unchallenged colleagues could not, by putting the country on the medals table at the quadrennial games.
The 29-man contingent arrived the country yesterday as they were received by sports officials and relatives. On arrival at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
The athletes, who were transported home by their various federation buses, said they should be accorded same respect and recognition as their able bodied counterparts.
Nigeria finished 22nd position in the overall medal table with a total of 13 medals comprising 6 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.
