All is now set for Former Chelsea and Ivorian striker Didier Drogba to put pen to paper with the officials of Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua in a deal worth $314,000 (200,000 pounds) a weekly. Drogba, 34, who will be re-uniting with former Chelsea
teammate Nicholas Anelka who joined the Chinese club last January is expected to formally make the announcement in his personal website as soon as the deal is completed in few days time.
French forward Anelka, who joined Shenhua in January also from Chelsea, has openly said that he wants Drogba to join him at the ambitious Chinese club.
Drogba, who left Chelsea after helping the English Premier League club to their first Champions League triumph last month, will earn an annual salary of 12.0 million euros ($15.1 million) said, Shanghai newspaper, the Oriental Morning Post.
Strikingly rich Shenhua currently sits in 12th position of the Chinese league and have over the years lavished huge sums on foreign talents, including coaches. They sacked head coach Jean Tigana earlier this season and replaced him with former Argentina manager Sergio Batista last month
