Bombings, Killings in Yobe State

Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state have been turned into a theater of war as Islamic militants have gone wild, shooting, bombing and killing with impunity. Since around 5pm on Monday, the New Jerusalem as well as the Sabon-pegi areas of the
city are a no-go area for those that do not wish to lose their lives.
The militant fighters almost gained access to the road linking to the residence of the governor, Ibrahim Geidam but for the timely intervention of the JTF.
There is serius commotion in the town. Its almost like a civil war as shattering sounds of guns and bombs are heard from different angles of the city and no one could really say what led to this latest attack on Damaturu.
Security sources said that more troops have been deployed to Yobe from neighbouring states to help bring the situation under control. Reports has it that the extremist sect.
Boko Haram are really fighting hard to overrun the government of the state.
